2010 in Review

If a person can teleport to a sim & the first line that they read is 'Oh shit it's XXX' you know you got trouble on your hands.... 2010 what a year!  I’ve met some crazy new friends, reconnected with old ones & looking forward to more memories before we all die in two years.
Oh no here we go ‘Conrad is nuts thinking 2012’ No I’m not, I’m just saying that life in itself is short.

It's no mystery that the people I hang around are completely insane.
We annoy people, make fun or ourselves and most importantly we love each other.  The few people I have come to know & enjoy in SL are a big part of me.  I would meet them in a heartbeat and in fact already planning  trips to meet a few of them.

Everyone is entitled to their own zone of comfort and I respect the wish of anyone to remain anonymous within Second Life and on many occasions I support it.  Face it many people on Second Life are mentally unstable. The ones you meet and are constantly causing 'drama'. I for one don't know anyone like that because they don't last long in a group of people who mainly are in SL to enjoy themselves and express their love of creativity. (Yes wreaking havoc is an art..just ask Skyler).
On that note let's aim to make 2011 even crazier than 2010.  I want us all to try and dedicate a day to making just one person laugh and smile so hard that their face hurts.  See you all in the funny papers!

Fiery Beginnings End in Frigid Despair.

Meeting someone new with whom you 'click' with is great isn't it.  Everything seems brand new, creativity goes thru the roof and everything in the universe seems right, perpetual order to the celestial chaos that is life.  Some couples have managed to spread this feeling throughout the span of their relationship; even with the inevitable ups and downs of relationships.  Others have crash & burn within a short period of time, and are left with symptoms of withdrawal. That new car smell feeling that we all experience when we get into a relationship, is just a bombardment of chemical reactions in our brains. Got to love our gray matter!  I won’t get into the whole chemical breakdown of love and lust so do not worry.

We as humans are physiologically built for intimate relationships in every aspect not just sexual.  The brain craves the rush of hormones that are released whenever we get a text, an instant message, a phone call, a touch, a kiss, a smile or anything associated with whoever triggers those feelings.  Now the real trick is how we get these feelings to last.  That is what makes or breaks relationships at times.
1: Take it slow & even though our natural reaction is to tell that person everything about us, refrain as if your life depended on it.  Treat every conversation like a collegiate essay & do not use the word ‘I’.
2. Do not play games, if you are feeling that person let them know, but don’t spend every waking moment with them at first. You still need some time apart to pursue your own interests. Send a message letting them know that they are on your mind but you cannot talk at the moment because you want to be able to give them your full attention. Yes it may be a lie but the sense of longing is what you are conditioning yourself towards.
3. All in moderation. Trying to revive that spark is a pain. A wise teacher once told me, it is less stressful maintaining a passing grade than recovering a failing one.
When we start to build a tolerance to being in a relationship; this is when things go sour. Similar to any addiction we eventually need more to recreate that high. People begin seeking out that high outside of their relationship, when their significant other or interest cannot supply their increasing demand….. but that’s another topic for another day).
Books, songs, television, talk shows and all other form of media has spoken on this phenomenon we call relationship and this info should not be anything new to you, it is just the ramblings of a madman.

Hard Working Women and Men

One day as I logged into SL I encountered a young lady that during conversation revealed she was an escort (well It was in her profile as I was perving it out. You know you do the same so hush). She asked if I wanted to sample her services for a minimal fee.  I pondered, declined, retracted that answer, agreed, flinched, retracted, declined & finally pressed Ctrl+Q.  I panicked as I thought of what my wife (real & virtual) would do to me in the event if I were to hire an escort virtually.
I spoke to the boss of my house the next morning asking what would be the difference between hiring an escort online versus reality.  I just wanted to get some feedback not to get shot!  These women/men  are just working and there is a minimal chance of intimate feelings.  Had it been a friend who proposed this I would definitely say no.
SL provides us all with a lifestyle that one would not normally do in reality for whatever reason. Be it bondage, homosexuality, heterosexuality, bestiality & the list goes on & on.  Keeping the anonymous factor about it is very pleasing to many people as they can explore their sexuality without judgment from those they work and/or live with.
Sex sells. Especially in Second Life.  You can find escorts & strippers without even searching it is just in your face constantly.  Avatars look gorgeous, sexy & their clothing increases the ‘smexy’.  Articles of fabric that defy gravity & the need for an adhesive, gosh I love it!

Here is my question(s) to you out there in Second Life:
What is the difference from hiring an escort in SL and watching porno?
They both are a means to an end.  They both are forms of non-contact, anonymous sexual entertainment.   Let me get some feedback I’m curious to what you think.
